Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you give us — name, email, shipping address, and payment details when you place an order, create an account, or send us a support message. You can also use your email to sign up for our newsletter.
Information collected automatically — device type, browser, approximate location from IP address, pages viewed, and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
Information from others — our payment processor and shipping carriers share order and delivery status back with us.
How we use it
To process, ship, and support your order, including subscription renewals.
To respond to contact, wholesale, and support requests.
To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and — only if you opt in — marketing emails.
To measure and improve the site and its pages are useful, and which are not.
To detect fraud and keep the site secure.

We do not use these tools to build a profile that we sell to data brokers, and we do not knowingly share your information with anyone for their own independent marketing.
How we share information
We share information only with the vendors who help us run the business, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:
Payment processors (to charge your card securely — we never store full card numbers on our servers).
Shipping carriers (to deliver your order and provide tracking).
Email/SMS platforms (to send order and marketing messages you opted into).
Analytics and advertising partners listed above.
Law enforcement or regulators, only when legally required.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California and similar state laws, our use of analytics and advertising cookies may be considered a "share" for cross-context behavioral advertising — see your right below to opt out.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Know what personal information we hold about you.
Request a copy, a correction, or deletion of that information.
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@chewmandu.com or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We will respond within 45 days, as required under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and comparable state laws.
Data retention
We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, tax, and warranty purposes (typically 7 years), and contact/newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Children's privacy
Chewmandu is not a service for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) in transit and rely on PCI-compliant payment processors, so we never see or store your full card numbers. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately for its sensitivity.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and post material changes here for at least 30 days before they take effect.
